INTRODUCTION:
Namlang-Himal is an Indian agency located to Bir (Himachal Pradesh) dedicated to receptive tourism, alternative tourism, in sustainable development concept applied to tourism with solidarity conceived by the French Association Tendrel-ActionTibet to create jobs in aid to the Tibetan refugees and local Indian. Our team is composed of Tibetans and Indians from the local communities of Bir area.
We are positioning ourselves especially on areas of settlement of Tibetan refugees in order to allow tourists to get in touch with this very special population. We inform our visitors of the real situation of Tibetans in exile, they can verify this information and discuss with local officials and families to be visited.
At the same time, we allow travelers to also contact the indian society by organizing tours and meet the local population.
We organize trips with discovery of cultural and natural heritage of the regionsvisited, visit development projects and share people's lives. These trips offer the discovery of Tibetan an Indian culutre, through immersion in the local population.
Namlang-Himal respect the principles of responsible tourism :
- local populations are involved in the organization of tourism
- they are recipients of financial benefits
Namlang-Himal, Village-based tourism, is located in Himachal Pradesh. The site of Bir is rich of two cultures : at once an Indian village in the mountains and a colony of Tibetan refugees.
Namlang-Himal is a solidarity project that creates jobbs for both communities.It contributes to economic development of this mountain region.
We offer different kind of stay:
- Sport and adventures activities such as trekking, camping, paragliding, etc. Himachal Pradesh, serve as a landing ground and a base for hang and paragliders.
- Special tours with jeep or local transportation, include eco-tour, ethnic tourism, to visit the most famous site of Himachal Pradesh
- Buddhist tourism: Bir is the most popular in Himachal Pradesh to discover more about Buddhist religion, with 5 big monasteries, and its 2 hrs journey by road from Dharamshala.
